The electronics ordinance regulates the placing on the market, the retraction, the sustainable disposal of electric- and electronic devices.
Used electric devices that can't be used anymore are not allowed to be disposed to the household garbage. Therefore consumers are bound by law to return used electric devices. Those could contain pollutants that can harm the environment or your health in case of careless storage or disposal.
Also used electric devices contain important resources such as iron, plastics, argentum, glass etc. that can be reutilized. Used electronic devices have to be brought to recycling yards at municipality (ÖRE) into the separated gathering. Naturally our shop's collection place can be used as well.
Which devices are affected?
Electric- and electronic devices such as climate computer/controllers, heating mats and heating cables, digital thermo- and hygrometers, gas discharge lamps etc. The electronics ordinance applies to the most electronic devices , which are used by electric current or electromagnetic fields and which are listed in the categories of the current legal directive.
How are these devices signified?
Products that come within the electronics ordinance are signified by a crossed roll-out container and mustn't be disposed to residual waste/household garbage but by the return to the responsible manufacturer resp. importer by the collecting points of the ÖRE (governed by public law - disposal institution)
Obligation of consumers
Consumers must not put devices which will not be used anymore, to the residual waste but are in bond to put them into the separated gathering at the communes (ÖRE). To do so you can use the free filing points according to the community.
