Cork nest inserts

Our cork nest inserts are ideal for ant species that live in wood. The nest has prefabricated naturalistic chambers and passages so that the ants can move in directly.

Since the cork nest must have a thickness of at least 20mm in order to be easily manufactured and transported without being damaged, it is only available in size L.

Cork nests should only be used in dry or at least not permanently moist formicariums. If cork nests are too moist for a long time, a decomposition process can appear on the surface or the material can slowly discolor.

In permanently moist formicariums such as for rainforest habitats, we therefore recommend our Digfix nests.

The size of the nest inserts (L) does not refer to the external dimensions, but to the thickness and the connections or openings (adapted to the size of different species of ants).
